Sometimes you just need to do it in a different way!
We all have our ways of getting to the same place but it might take us all a different way. The important part of it is the journey.
Yesterday, we did some planning in our school looking at four key areas for our future:
I was (and have been) working with a group on developing our Holy Cross Lesson Toolkit. We have been looking at the importance of the three part lesson and the importance of engagement, feedback, etc. now this may seem like reinventing the wheel, but I think it is an important process to continue to put this in your own ideas and in your own words.
Each project group worked on a presentation in order to hand over the ownership to the staff rather than the Leadership Team. Some excellent ideas and ways to move forward were presented.
For our lesson toolkit, we decided to put together a visual representation connected to QR codes which led staff to specific pages housing ideas for starters, plenaries, etc. We decided that this should be made as a poster for each classroom and staff office to make these ideas available at any time.
Eventually we will have an updated web page for the school but for the moment we continue to use wikis. This is where the QR codes are presently connected.
From here we put together some other ideas about the overview of the lesson and decided the we needed a visual representation of the too.
I've started working on a graphic but here's the sketches/ideas:
Anyway, as I said before, sometimes you just have to do it your way in order to solidify your understandings.
